Many of us at Definition Networks previously worked at Starent Networks/Cisco, where we participated in building carrier-class packet gateways for many network technologies. These gateways are in service at a majority of 3G and 4G tier-1 carrier networks around the globe. The packet gateways include the SGSN and GGSN for 3G networks; PGW, SAE-GW, MME for 4G networks; and several other nodes for IMS, WiMAX and other radio access technologies. We understand the carrier space requirements, and we have a proven track record of delivering industry-leading software architectures.
Management Staff
Vijay Kathuria, President: Prior to founding Definition Networks, Vijay spent 10+ years at Starent Networks, which was subsequently acquired by Cisco Systems. At Starent, which built mobile packet gateways for several access technologies, he ran a 750+ person organization spread across 3 geographical locations that included Engineering, Customer Support and G&A functions. Prior to Starent, Vijay ran NuLink, Inc., which was an early pioneer of offshore development model. Scott McElroy, Vice President of Technology: Prior to joining Definition Networks, Scott spent over 33 years with AT&T in a variety of senior leadership roles. As Vice President of Mobility Technology, he led a team of over 600 experts with responsibility for developing, testing and deploying mobility technologies. Sundar Ramaswamy, Vice President of Engineering: Prior to joining Definition Networks, Sundar was responsible for leading software development activities for the Mobile Internet Technology Group at Cisco Systems. He was instrumental in the formation of the Bangalore Development Center for Starent Networks in 2005 and expanded to a team of 350 employees before acquisition by Cisco in 2009. Before Starent, he served as Director of the Engineering group at iSoftel responsible for building products for VoIP and PSTN networks. Kenneth Virgile, Chief Technical Officer: Ken is a software expert in the field of computers and computer networking. He has over 30 years experience in the industry, is the inventor of multiple patents, and has a distinguished track record of co-founding several successful high-tech companies building communications products.
